Happy Valentine's Day!!

Parson baked some Valentine cookies to take and share with his nursery class last Sunday. He was super excited to take them!
He made this fun Valentine craft at the Fun Van on Monday
He got a fun Valentine package in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa
I got up Tuesday morning and put up a few decorations for him to see when he woke up

A couple days ago we took Parson on a walk to the park. There were a few kids there running around. Parson saw 3 girls playing in the sand and he walked over to them and said "Hi little girls my name's Parson, I'm a big boy" and then just started playing. Haha! I was cracking up at his little introduction of himself. It was especially funny because the girls were a few years older than him and he was calling them little girls and telling them that he is a big boy. He cracks me up! Love my little boy! (He might think he is a big boy, but will always be my little boy! :) )

Zoo Day

Last Monday we went to the zoo with grandma, Aunt Ty, Tatum and Tripp. It was the perfect day for the zoo there wasn't a ton of people and the weather was awesome. Checking out the tiger

Grandma showed the kids the buttons that they can push which then turned into the rest of the zoo being about pushing the buttons over and over and over again at each animal

They stamped a penny, we ended up with a rhino stamped on the one we made

Tripp was over riding by himself in his stroller so we tried squeezing them all into the wagon, don't they look comfy! Tatum was nice though and let Bubba ride in the stroller and she walked
The story behind this picture is, Parson pushed Tripp out of the way and wouldn't let him push the button for the animal, so he had to go sit in time out. Tripp felt bad for him though so he went and sat with Parson and played in the dirt

London's Run

Last Saturday we all participated in London's Run. It's a run for a little girl who sadly passed away from leukemia and now they have done it for 6 years to benefit other little kids with cancer. My mom ran it last year and said it was a lot of fun so we all wanted to do it this year. It was a lot of fun! We all just did the 2 mile walk/run so that we could all do it together. Afterwards they had fruit, bagels and drinks for us and we needed it after our strenuous 2 miles! haha! Then we walked around booths that they had set up and they had some random animals the kids got to pet. There was a beaver, baby fox, baby alpaca, iguana and some random animal that nobody was quite sure what the heck it was. We had a really good time and I am super bummed because this was the last year that they are putting it on. I wish they could keep doing it because it's an awesome benefit and since our grandpa and nana both passed away from leukemia we wanted to go in honor of them and make it a tradition but I guess now we will have to find another one for everybody to do.

Tyrelle came up with the idea of having preschool/play dates for the kids. They love to get together and play and so we decided we will throw some learning crafts/activities into the mix. This last week we did the letter P number 3 and our shape was circles (polka dots) and our colors were purple and pink. Their attention spans aren't very long and they can't wait to just run around but we did get some fun activities in. Here are the pics of some of them.

Christmas in Eagar

Last week we headed up to Eagar for Christmas with the rest of our families. We were there about a week and had a lot of fun!!! Luckily, we got to take advantage of the snow storm from the weekend before so we had some snow to play in but it was actually pretty nice and in the 50's the whole time we were there so we didn't all freeze!
It didn't take the kids very long after we got there to get bundled up and get out in the snow. My dad made a little snow hill for them to slide down on

Tatum was obsessed with building snowmen. She worked really hard on this one!

One day I went and did errands with my mom and Tyrelle and the guys stayed with the kids. Ryan decided to put Parson down for a nap and was bragging to Cody how he was good about taking naps and he just went right in there and laid down. Well after a little bit Ryan went to check on him and it turns out Parson had been so quiet because he had gotten into Aunt Ty's purse, dumped everything out, found a lollipop and was kicked back in one of the kid's carseats enjoying his sucker instead of taking a nap

On New Year's Eve we decided to throw my dad a surprise 50th birthday party. His birthday isn't actually for a couple weeks but since we were all there we decided to have one a little early.

Once Parson heard the mention of opening presents though out he came running to help grandpa open his presents. Parson loves to unwrap!

Shannon got my dad some little gag type gifts for the old man, one of them actually came in handy, here he is trying to read the birthday card and then two seconds later he pulled out some old man reading glasses, haha, perfect timing!

After the party we all hung out for New Year's Eve. We had a fun little firework show

The next day was our family Christmas party. The kids got spoiled! There were presents under the tree, in the back of the truck and hidden in all the closets! Grandma tends to go overboard! We couldn't even bring home all the presents because our car was too full!

Cody and Tyrelle dressed up in Christmas outfits. Their vests were hilarious! And Cody's shorts, well those things were out of control! There were equipped with little jingle bells on the bottom and everything! So funny!
Stockings
Tripp was hilarious in the Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer nose. It blinked red so he was going cross-eyed trying to look at the light, it was hysterical watching him with that thing on!
We had to do our tradition of drinking ice cold Cokes in glass bottles while opening presents. The kids got these cute little ball ones
They got bean bags. For some reason Parson was obsessed with Tatum's green one. He does this thing right now where he loves to rub his face all over things that are soft. I don't know what the deal was with the green one because they were the same material but all day long Parson was on Tatum's bag rubbing his face all over it! haha weird little kid
Tatum dressed up in the Cinderella dress I got her, the dress up shoes Blake got her and Nathan found them all these really cute miniature work gloves. She was decked out in the all gifts!

That afternoon Nathan and Sarah put together some Minute To Win It games for us all to play. I didn't get pics of them all unfortunately but I did manage to get some of the "how's it hanging' game. It was the funniest one of them all! You have to tie a banana around your waist hanging from the floor and then use it to hit 2 oranges into a hula hoop that's sitting across the floor. Very entertaining to watch! I wish I could post the videos of everybody doing it but the pics will have to work.

Merry Christmas!

This year Ryan had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so we put in a call to Santa and luckily he was able to come visit us on Christmas Eve day. We had a fun time together as a family celebrating the holiday. We started out the day putting some reindeer food out for Rudolph

We finished up all of our advent calendars

Made cookies for Santa
And wrote a thank you letter

When we got a trampoline growing up Santa left us a note telling us to look out back and he did the same for Parson! I remember it because everybody always laughs because I ran out of my room, read the sign and was out the backdoor jumping on the trampoline and Nathan and Tyrelle were a little slower they were rubbing there eyes trying to figure out what the sign meant before they caught on to get out back to see the present
He had to bust out of his room to see what Santa brought. He wasn't sure what to do but eventually he made it out

After he was done with his stocking we headed out back to see what Santa brought. "What is it?" Parson asked. Haha, he had never seen a big trampoline and had never been on one so he didn't know what it was

He loved opening presents! He tore right through them!

Neighborhood Lights

For FHE this week we loaded up in the car went and got some hot chocolate and drove around our neighborhood looking at everyone's Christmas lights. I have to say our community was pretty lazy this year, there weren't too many lights. (We can't talk though this was the first year Ryan and I put up lights and we've almost been married 8 years! :) We still had fun driving around listening to Christmas music and checking out the houses that were decorated. I was excited when I saw the house with the leg lamp in the window from 'A Christmas Story'! We always watched that movie at our house growing up. It was a good time even though I did get car sick (thanks mom for giving me your motion sicknessness)

Last night we all went to Bass Pro to get pictures with Santa. Bass Pro does awesome decorating for Christmas, it's a lot of fun!Holding hands waiting in line. So cute!

After Bass Pro and eating some yummy BBQ at Famous Dave's we headed over to the zoo. My grandma, Aunt Bedie, Brooklyn, Brenden, Brynlie and Britany met up with us there.

This year we tried out the Polar Slide. Here is Cody and Tatum. I didn't think Tatum would do it but I was wrong, she loved it! She looked so cute and little sliding down the hill!

Snow Daze

Our community center put on a little Snow Daze this afternoon so we took Parson down to it. This was Parson's first time on a horse! He loved the little horses. He kept talking about how cute they are!

They had a few little sections of snow. Parson liked throwing snowballs at the signs.

I wasn't sure how he would do with Santa. Lately, every time he lays down to go to sleep he talks about how he is scared of Santa, the other night he cried for an hour before I finally got him to sleep because he was scared of Santa and then other times he is excited and talks about Santa bringing him toys and candy. But Santa walked out and he was all excited and jumped right up on his lap, smiled and took a picture.

Christmas Activities

We have been busy doing all sorts of Christmas activities around here. Since it stays dark a lot longer in the mornings now Parson has been sleeping in until 8-9 o'clock which means his afternoon naps have become quite short so we have been trying to stay entertained with crafts. We made clay ornaments, waited a few days for them to dry and then painted them

Snowman snack

We made a special treat to surprise Dad when he gets home from work. Growing up there was a lady in our ward, Sister Sloan, who made a delicious Chex Mix. She gave us the recipe and we have been making it every year since. Last year I made a couple batches to take to our family Christmas party but forgot to take them. However, Ryan found the bags at home and let's just say it didn't last too long. He has been anxiously waiting for Christmas to come again so I would make it.
Parson apparently likes it too. I finally had to bag it up because every time I turned around this little guy was over on his tip toes sneaking more off the counter.

November Wrap Up

We went to Marc and Miranda's farewell party at Peter Piper Pizza. It was Parson's first time at a place like that so he was excited to explore.He didn't care much for the motorcycle riding game, he got off of it pretty quick
He loved this basketball game, he was really good at it too! I was trying to upload a video of him playing it but it was taking way too long, maybe I'll try some other time
For Thanksgiving we went out to my Aunt Bedie's. Parson had a blast playing with all the kids and we ate way too much yummy food!

We decorated for Christmas

My mom made this super cute advent calendar.
This is Parson's favorite ornament. My mom got one for all of us last year to remember our "Big Grandpa" who worked in construction. I had to put it up high on the tree because Parson wants to play with it so bad! Everyday he asks to play with the grandpa loader. I guess I know what I need to be hunting down for a Christmas present.

Today we got to put our 1st day up on all the advent calendars around here. I think we have 4 advent type calendars. Ryan says it's a little overkill but I think the more the merrier! Plus, Parson likes them and that's all that matters, right?!

Last night for FHE we talked about loving our whole family. We talked about who we love and what we like to do with all of them. The handout only came with grandma and grandpa stickers so we had to draw our aunt, uncles and cousins. Aren't we great artists?

The weather has finally cooled down over the past few days so we went to the park after lunch

We went to our ward's Trunk or Treat

Last night we joined Tyrelle and her in-laws and went trick or treating in a neighborhood. It was fun. There were a lot of houses decorated really cool and spooky. Parson got scared and cried 3 times from things jumping out at him. Tyrelle didn't help though one of the times she was standing next to Parson and the people had a giant spider that lunged at you well it lunged at us and Tyrelle jumped and screamed like a little girl and I think her reaction scared Parson more than anything! I wasn't able to get any pictures because I was holding hands and buckets and lights so this is the only one I was able to get when we were stopped waiting for some of the group to catch up. Parson was pretty cute and got the hang of trick or treating pretty quick. He marched right up to the doors held his bucket out and said trick or treat and happy halloween! His got his bucket filled up. Towards the end I had to hold the bucket because it was just 'too heavy!'.

Boo at the Zoo and The Harvest Festival

We had a fun weekend! Grandma and Grandpa came down and we went to Boo at the Zoo and then that night our community had a Harvest Festival that we went to.

They had a trunk or treat...one of the vehicles had a set up where the guy was hidden and he had a bowl sitting out with a piece of candy sitting in it and then when the kid went to grab the candy he had a skeleton hand reach out and grab their hand..all of a sudden I heard Parson screaming, he did not like that car..scared him to death
Tripp was hysterical..I love his Bam Bam costume...he was so cute!
Parson wasn't too sure about the maze..they had smoke machines and skulls laying around..he made his way out of the maze as fast as he could

We haven't started out with the best morning. Poor Parson tripped and busted his face on the fire pit. It bled quite a bit and he was pretty sad but after a couple lollipops and an episode of Mickey Mouse he was feeling better. That is until he saw his face in the mirror and then got sad again. Poor kid

Fishing & Spiders

Last week we went to the lake in the morning before it got too hot (yes it is still 100 degrees here, I don't know if it's ever going to cool down) and Parson was able to try out the new fishing pole that grandpa and grandma gave him for his birthday. We didn't catch one, Parson doesn't quite have the fisherman's patience yet but it was fun watching him try.

Later in the week Tyrelle, Tatum and Tripp came over and we had a Halloween craft day. Tyrelle got all the kids pumpkins to paint and we made spider cookies and spider handprints and as always just had a good time playing with the cousins.

Ghosts

For FHE this week we did a ghost theme. We had a lesson about little ghosts listening to mom and dad, Parson made ghosts with his footprints and we made ghost cookies, which were delicious! Can't go wrong with Nutter Butter's dipped in white chocolate :)

We didn't do a whole lot this month. We are still anxiously waiting for it to cool down so we can be outside at the parks and zoo and be able to just get out of the house and not sweat to death. We started working on potty training. He was doing pretty good but then we went to Eagar for my cousin's wedding and he just was too distracted playing with cousins and didn't want to stop to go potty so he didn't do so great there so now we have to work on it again now that we are back home. One potty accident happened when the three kids were running around the house and all of a sudden we heard 'thump' and knew somebody and fallen in the kitchen and we hear Tatum say 'Parson peed on the floor' so we get up and sure enough Parson was standing there in a puddle of pee and poor Tatum had slipped in the pee while chasing Parson and was laying in the puddle! haha..poor girl.
Parson loves trying on mom and dad's shoes. He is always in the closet looking for shoes to try on
He was so happy to go to grandma and grandpa's and see Tatum and Tripp. They have been in Eagar all month long and he was missing his play buddies so he was super excited to see them

"Woody"...Parson wore this hat non-stop while we were there. He thinks it looks like Woody's hat so he was obsessed with it. It was on from the moment he got up until we went to bed.

Tatum came up with this indoor slide. They had a blast climbing up then sliding down the mattress.

We all ended up watching the ceremony from the sidelines. First Tatum was dying of thirst so Tyrelle had to take her to get a drink. Well Parson then got upset and was yelling for Tatum so I had to take him off to the side and then Tripp started crying so my dad had to bring him over...ya that was us...we were the one's at the wedding with the crying children
He looked so handsome in his suit though it was hard to stay mad
Parson and Tripp had matching suits...they were the cutest things ever!
Parson discovered his pocket so then he had to do all sorts of 'I'm cool' poses with his hand in his pocket
We tried to get a picture of all 3 of them together, it didn't go well. Tripp wouldn't hold still, Tatum didn't want to put down her sippy cup and Parson just wanted to play with the sparkles on Tatum's dress

Once the dance floor opened up and they could get out there and dance they were all smiles! They had so much fun dancing, they went non-stop

Sea Life Aquarium

Yesterday we went to the Arizona Sea Life Aquarium at the Arizona Mills Mall. It was pretty cool. The kids had a fun time looking at all the sea creatures. Tripp was so cute! He has a really high pitch scream and he was SUPER excited to see all the fish, I think his scream was echoing through the aquarium

I love all the bright color ones, they are definitely my favorite

CLAWS! scary...this is why I like snorkeling around all the colorful fish but don't care to go scuba diving and be at the bottom with all these creepy things

This was Tatum and Parson's favorite tank. It was full of lots of little Nemo's and Dory's. It had a bubble you could crawl into to check out the fish all around you and they stayed in the bubble for quite a while.

He's 2!!!

I can't believe Parson is already 2! These last couple of years have flown by! His birthday was this last Sunday, the 14th. We didn't do a big party this year. My parents came down to see him and Tyrelle, Tatum and Tripp came over and we had an all weekend birthday celebration. Since his birthday was on Sunday I was waiting to do the actual little party on Monday but the grandparents couldn't wait and had to let him open at least one of his presents from them on Sunday morning.
This depresses me! Thinking of him heading off to school in a few years really makes me sad. I don't think I will handle it very well.
They got him a Cars backpack full of all kinds of fun goodies.

Tyrelle got him these really cute ones. Their mouths move and they talk. Parson was a little scared of them at first, I think seeing his favorite characters actually talk to him made him a little nervous, but now he loves them and talks back to them and they are his little buddies

In the afternoon we headed over to the water park. We all had a blast! The kids loved their little slide and the adults had fun on the big water slides as well!

Parson is quite the copycat. I've mentioned before that he copies EVERYTHING that we say now, which can be good and bad. In this case, it's good and really cute! I call him sweetheart and love bug all the time. I'll just say hi sweetheart, or what are you doing love bug things like that. Well the other day whenever he came up to me or wanted my attention he would call me either love bug or sweetheart. Adorable, right?! Well it gets even cuter, when he gets in trouble for some reason he will come up afterwards and hug my leg and say sorry or for some reason he tends to stroke our arm or leg when he is saying sorry, but now being the cute little sly guy that he his, if he does something that he knows he shouldn't be doing he automatically comes up wraps his arms around my legs and in the sweetest little voice says, i'm sorry love bug or i'm sorry sweetheart. How can I be mad when this precious little boy comes up and says that to me! How does he know it will automatically melt my heart and all is forgiven?! Kids, they are much smarter than we think sometimes, they always seem to know how and when to say the right things to get out of trouble! It works though, it's too stinkin cute to stay mad after that.

Ok so I will probably be that mom that displays the 'My kid's on the honor roll' bumper sticker proudly on her car and have all of Parson's artwork all around the house on display and pretty much be bragging about her kid all the time..haha..that's what mom's are for though right?! Well here is one of my bragging moments because I think I have such a brilliant little guy! We have been working on recognizing and learning the alphabet and Parson has been doing really good. This is a video I took a couple weeks ago of him practicing his letters. So smart! :)

When I put Parson down for the night the last thing I always say is 'I love you'. Well he usually says night mom, or bye mom but recently he has started saying I love you mom! Talk about melting your heart! It may have been a long day and he might have just got out of time out for not cleaning up his toys and I couldn't wait for bedtime but then he says those words and it's easy to forget about the long day where the terrible 2's stage has definitely surfaced and I have to go back and give him more hugs and kisses because it's seriously the best 4 words in the world to hear!

Family Reunion

This last weekend we were at our family reunion for my mom's side of the family. We have it at a hotel every year, this year it was in Scottsdale. We did a lot of visiting, snacking and swimming.
Aunt Bedie brought a snow cone machine! It was a hit, they were very refreshing in the hot AZ afternoons
Parson's BFF of the weekend was Brooklyn, he loved swimming with her

Growing up when my Nana was alive she would always make us what we called 'grab bags'. They were just bags made up of random little goodies, so this year the little kids made 'Nana bags' in remembrance of Nana, we sure do miss her, the reunions are still fun but they have never been the same without her there

CARS 2

Yesterday we took Parson to his first movie at the theatre. We went and watched Cars 2. We waited a few weeks after it came out because I didn't know how Parson would do in the theatre so I figured it would be best to wait and go when it wouldn't be packed. He did pretty good though. He sat on my lap for the first half and pretty much didn't move but then started to get a little restless so Ryan took him out and walked him around for a few minutes and then he was ready to come back in and sat there and watched the rest of the movie. He got really excited when the characters showed up on the screen for the first time and he would yell their names out. It was really cute!

Afterward we stopped by the new Casa Grande Fire Department so Ryan could give us a tour and Parson could check out all the firetrucks.

Home Run Derby

Growing up I was a pretty big fan of baseball. It's the sport that my dad and brothers like the best so there were always baseball games on at our house. My favorite team was the Atlanta Braves and Chipper Jones was my favorite player. I used to know all the teams and players and I would always be checking the sports section in the paper to check up on batting averages. These days I have to admit that I don't really know any players and don't watch too many games but I still like the sport. Ryan surprised me with tickets to the Home Run Derby and so we went and watched it last night. It was fun to be in the stadium and watch them him home run after home run. I think the longest one was 474 feet!

The kids in the outfield catching the balls were entertaining. This was a group of little kids and it was pretty funny watching them run around and tackle each other to get to the ball first. There were some pretty good catches by some of them. There was a group of older kids and this one made an awesome diving catch. I think he got the biggest cheer of the night. It was pretty impressive.
This is Robinson Cano. He ended up winning the derby with 12 home runs in the championship round. He was cool to watch. He had some awesome hits.

4th of July

Parson and I spent about a week and a half up in Eagar. Ryan was working and so we decided to head up a week early since it was going to be around 120 degrees in the Valley and then Ryan met us up there later. We were able to have a fun time with family and Parson had a blast running around outside all day. We weren't at the house for more than a minute and Parson had his cowboy hat on, grabbed some carrots and he was ready to go feed the horse and mules.

Grandma and Grandpa bought the kids their very own John Deere to drive around the yard. They loved it! They took turns driving each other around and by the end of the week they were all getting pretty good at it. They were supposed to be driving over to the horses to feed them the carrots but they decided to snack on them a little bit first.
They looked so cute driving around, Tripp was obsessed with the truck, he wanted to be in it all day long, he did so good hanging on while they drove him around too, it was hilarious
Grandma found these really cute little ice cream drumsticks for the kids, Tripp loved them! He made a huge mess while he was eating it but it was worth it because he was so cute eating them.

Sarah has a snake named Monty. I do not like snakes. They freak me out. She decided to bring it over for the kids to see. Parson had no fear of it, he touched it no problem. Well then everybody else decided to be brave and put it around their neck. So, I of course couldn't be the wimp and not do it even though I thought it was disgusting. It wasn't the best experience. I made the mistake of not putting my hair up before it was on my neck and so I don't think it was able to hold on real well so it started slithering all over me. It's tail went down my shirt and it's head was down my arm. It was disgusting! Yes, I started to freak out and I couldn't wait to get it off of me but I at least did it!

The parade as fun. The kids liked looking at all the horses, firetrucks, tractors, floats and of course gathering up lots of candy.

We went to our community water park today. It's a really cool pool. Parson isn't big enough though to just run around and play in it because it's a little too deep but he still has fun with us carrying him around and swimming in the pool.
There is a bell that dings before the bucket dumps on top of you and Parson always gets excited and yells 'here it comes!'

Today we went to Tripp and Tatum's birthday party. Both of their birthday's are in June so Tyrelle threw them a joint party at a park in Chandler. She did a really good job on the party. They each had their own theme and colors and she had a ton of delicious food and super cute decorations. I wish I got more pictures. I usually take literally hundreds of pictures but unfortunately today I didn't get as many as I would have liked to. It was hard with a ton of kids running around and everyone else trying to get pictures as well but I'm sure between all of us that were there we got a lot of cute pics. It was a fun party, I think everyone had a good time.

Wow, Tripp turned 1 today! It's insane how fast a year goes by. Tyrelle brought Tatum and Tripp over so we could have a little birthday party for him. We took them to the splash pad, decorated cupcakes and then they ran around the house playing while we worked on Tyrelle's kids birthday banners for their big party next weekend. They have so much fun together and Parson is always heartbroken when they leave to go home. Parson loves the splash pad! The first couple times we went he had fun but stayed mostly by the little sprinklers and was more timid but now he goes crazy! He runs full force through all the water and isn't shy anymore at all! His poor little eyes were bloodshot by the time he was done because he loves to stick his face in the water and run back and forth through all the sprayers. I love watching him play in there, it cracks me up!

Horses Carrots!

We just got back from a trip to Eagar. Ryan had a few extra days off work so we decided to go visit family. Parson loves it there! He has so much fun playing and visiting with everyone. We wish the weather had been a little better. It was windy, shocker! The wind blowing in Eagar, nobody would ever believe that! We were trying to teach him how to push himself around in the little car, he started to figure it out, he was a lot better driving backwards than forwards though
He absolutely loved helping papa do chores, he enjoyed getting to help feed the animals. His favorite thing to do was feed the horses carrots. Once he gets his mind on something he doesn't forget it and so we probably heard him say 'horses carrots', 'horses carrots' a million times a day. He was obsessed with giving them carrots.

He really likes Pasty the 'tat'. He followed that cat everywhere.

Aunt Jenni and Grannie came by for a visit and brought Parson lots of cool toys. One of them was this awesome little bug catcher.

They also brought him some binoculars so he could check out all the animals
Parson got spoiled! Grandma got him all kinds of prizes too, one of them was 'car car' bubbles
The morning we left we looked outside to see a bunch of deer running and eating out in the pasture. Parson thought it was really cool watching them jump the fences.

Zoo Day

When I got up this morning I got online to see what the weather would be like today and it said it would be a high of 77 degrees so I thought that it would be a good day to go to the zoo because it will be back up in the 90's in a couple days and the zoo isn't as fun when you have super hot kiddos so I texted Tyrelle and she was up for a zoo day as well so we packed up and headed for the zoo. We were able to see the giraffe's up close eating their lunch

One of the main reasons I wanted to go is because they have been constructing a new orangutan exhibit and it finally opened up last month so I have been wanting to go check it out. It's really awesome! You can see the orangutans really good now. I wish I could have gotten better pictures of it but it was pretty crowded today so I didn't get very good ones. The little baby orangutan was so cute. She was doing somersaults and cartwheels all across the grass and even went and got a sheet and then went over to her grandma and threw the sheet over both of them and then played peek a boo..cutest thing ever! I didn't get a pic of it, Tyrelle got a good one though
The lighting in these ones are weird but they were having so much fun dancing and running in the new exhibit before a huge crowd hit, it was so pretty adorable

Before we left we wanted to get a picture of all 3 kids in the wagon. As you can see Tatum and Parson weren't too thrilled about having Tripp join them. Tripp didn't care though he thought it was fun and pretty cool to be in the wagon with them.

Splash Pad

I've been super excited for the splash pad to open because I knew Parson would love it. He wasn't quite big enough last year and we never got around to going to one but we have one right here now so I'm sure we will be going a lot this summer. He freaked out for a minute when it first turned on and the water started shooting up but it only took a second for him to figure out what it was and then he had a blast running around in it. He had it all to himself too because we were the only ones there this morning. We didn't stay too long because the poor kid started shivering but we will be going back soon! After we got home all he would say was 'fun in water' 'fun in water', so I guess he liked it!

Parson's 1st Concert!

Yesterday they had a concert in the park in our community. It was a tribute Beetles Band called Apple. Jay and Rita came by to visit yesterday afternoon so we went over to the park to check it out. It was pretty fun. It was windy though and once the sun went down it got pretty cold but we still had a good time. The main reason we wanted to go was to get some kettle corn. We also got a pina colada hawaiian shaved ice. Delicious!

Oh Crap!

Parson has a pretty good vocabulary going on these days. He talks quite a bit, he isn't putting together sentences or anything yet but he knows what a lot of things are and can communicate pretty well. He has some phrases that he knows and yesterday while we were at the park playing he started saying his newest phrase: Oh Crap! I of course immediately looked at Ryan just knowing that he was the cause of this new phrase. He says I say it all the time though, I guess I'm just not aware of it. Of course he picks up on this phrase, I say his name probably a million times a day and yet he still refuses to say his own name but this he picks up on! Haha, little stinker! And of course with every little kid it's so hard not to laugh when they say things like this because it's just so cute and funny! Oh well, I guess he could be saying a lot worse!

Easter Weekend

We had a long week last week. Poor Parson came down with strep and so we had to go to doctor visits twice, the first antibiotic didn't work for him so we had to take him back in and finally the second one they gave him kicked in and he started to feel better so we were still able to go to Camp Verde for the Easter party. My mom got Parson this shirt for Valentine's Day this year. They said it fits him perfectly. He loves Mickey and he is definitely is a Momma's Boy and he proved that this weekend. He hasn't ever really been super clingy before but for some reason he had to be holding my hand or hanging onto my leg or I couldn't be more than 3 steps away from him all weekend. It was surprising for him to be that way but hey I don't mind too much that he loves his mom! :)

Tyrelle and the kids came over to play yesterday so I of course had to take a few pictures of them. You might as well get used to it, I'm sure that's all my blog will be of this summer is the cousins playing together. They hunted for Easter eggs and played basketball together.
Tyrelle is quite the landscaper. Her yard is gorgeous with grass, plants, flowers and trees. She made me this cute pot of flowers for a housewarming gift.

We moved! We have been in our new area for a week now. We love it here! It's a super nice community with lots of fun stuff to do and the best part about it is that we are close to Tyrelle and her family again! Woohoo! Yesterday Tyrelle, Tatum, Tripp, Nathan and Sarah came over to visit and check out our new community. This is the big main park in the community. It's pretty big and has a ton of stuff to play on. The park area is really nice with a lake and lots of green grass to run around on.
There is a nice size lake that you can fish at. Ryan of course loves it. He has already been fishing a few times.
You can't see it very well but in the back of the picture is a building with glass windows. That is the huge community center. It's pretty much like a Lifetime Fitness. It has a full size basketball court, rock wall, game room, locker room, upstairs has a ton of free weights along with tread mills and elliptical machines, spinning bikes everything pretty much that you could want. It's sweet! I haven't been able to check it out yet because we've been unpacking and everything but I'm hoping to get over there this afternoon and check it all out. It also has a swimming pool and a water park that we are excited to get to play in all summer!

My parents have been down for the last couple days so Parson and I have been hanging out over at Tyrelle's enjoying playing outside in the summer weather. It's been between 80-90 degrees here most of the week.
Tripp is so cute! He went into the little clubhouse and stood up and was peeking through the window so Parson went over and they had a little conversation.
Jumping on the trampoline together. Tripp had a good little bottom bounce going on..was catching a little air!
Tatum and Parson had a blast in the little pool! It was the cutest thing! I don't think they could have had more fun..they laughed and splashed forever!

I wish I could have posted the whole 10 minute video I got because they were so fun in the little pool! Parson described it best, his new phrase that he has learned to say this week is 'it's so funny' and if you listen towards the end in one of the video's you can hear him say it...so cute!

1st Day in Nursery

I have dreaded this day. Most parents I think look forward to the day they get to put their kids in nursery, however i have stressed and have been dreading this day since he was born. Parents would always ask how much longer it would be until he could go to nursery and how they were counting down the days until their kid got to go..not me. I rarely leave Parson with anybody. I hate leaving him, I would much rather have him with me at all times. He is my little buddy. I have left him maybe 3-4 times with my family and it's always been for a few hours at a time at the most. It's just something I have a hard time with. I know his schedule, I know what he likes to eat and when he wants his juice, I know which toys he likes..ok so maybe I'm a little overprotective I willingly admit to it but I think I have the right to be :). I have been debating for awhile now whether I was going to take him or not but we have church at the worst possible time right now, it doesn't start until 12:30 and Parson takes his nap everyday at 1 so church has not been easy. So I figured he would probably have fun in nursery getting to play rather than being tired and cranky having to go to class with me so reluctantly I took him today. I stayed in there with him for the first hour and then the second hour I needed to go to young women's so I forced myself to leave him. Luckily, young women's is right across the hall and so I was poking my head out and looking through the window every few minutes. He seemed to do good and I know it's good for him to socialize with other kids his age but if I had my way I'd have him at my side 24/7. I took these pictures of him before we left for church today (and yes I was crying while taking them because he just looks so dang grown up! how did that happen so quickly?!) I can't believe he is already in nursery, but isn't he the most handsome little boy you have ever seen?! :)

My 18 Month Old Valentine!

Parson turned 18 months yesterday on Valentines Day! I can't believe he is already that old..makes me quite sad. We started off the morning going to his 18 month check up and the doctor said he is doing great. He weighs 23 pounds and is 32 inches tall. Then we came home and Parson got to open his Valentine treat.
Woody! We watched Toy Story 2 on tv as a family one night and Parson fell in love with it!
He got some money for Christmas and so he got this Woody doll. He loves him. Woody gets lots of kisses! He quickly picked up on how to say Woody, so everyday I hear him coming running out of the toy room yelling 'Woody' and him and Woody come running around the corner playing. Very cute!

My mom came down for a few days last week and so we were able to spend a lot of time with her, Tyrelle, Tatum and Tripp. Tatum and Parson watching the monkeys swing around on their ropes

Perfect Weather

The weather has been amazing here the past few days so today we decided to take advantage of it and head over to the zoo. We took Parson into the 'Stingray Bay' exhibit and he loved getting to pet the stingrays. He wasn't scared at all just laughed and had his hand in the water the whole time.

Christmas Party

My parents and brothers came down last weekend so we all gathered together at the Townsend's house and had a little Christmas party. It was nice to hang out all day and snack on all kinds of yummy snacks and food. Tatum and Tripp..Parson didn't want to wear a hat..Tatum is doing her new signature smile of hers at the moment..haha

Tatum loves to clean so I got her a broom and quickly had to go back to the store to get Parson one too because he discovered Tatum's when I was wrapping it and I knew there would be drama if they both didn't have one (hopefully they still like to sweep when they are older, I doubt it though)
Watching the fireworks..we got a box of fireworks to set off and they were all pretty good..Cody set up a nice grand finale which was actually pretty cool, my camera battery died though so I didn't get to get a picture of it

Christmas

We had a good Christmas this year. It was just the 3 of us at home and so we just relaxed and played all day. Parson coming down the stairs Christmas morning

We started out the day with Parson putting the last ornament on the tree. I think he is going to be pretty sad when our morning routine doesn't include putting an ornament up every day

And of course we had to keep up with the family tradition of drinking a Coke. I couldn't find the glass bottles so it wasn't the true tradition but it still worked.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!

Last night we went to Bass Pro to see Santa. I wasn't sure how Parson would react to him because he usually will let anybody hold him but he was scared of Santa. Santa gave him a little candy cane so he decided to sit on his lap but he still wasn't too happy about it. Bass Pro was awesome though! They turn a section into 'Santa's Wonderland' and they have it decorated so fun and cute and they have activities for the kids to do and they even print you out a nice 4x6 picture with Santa right there on the spot for free! It definitely gets you in the holiday spirit!

After we saw Santa we headed over to the zoo for ZooLights
Here is the group of us that went. Me and Tyrelle were having fun and were in the holiday spirit and thought it would be fun to be that group of people that is singing Christmas Carols while walking around zoolights but the boys didn't think it was such a cool idea..shocker! haha :)

They passed out 3-D glasses to check out all the lights in 3-D
Where these trees are is fun. They have a whole row of trees like this and they put on a music show. The lights change colors to go along with the beat of the music. It's cool to watch.

A New Friend

My friend Ashley and her little guy Brayden came to the zoo with us today. The weather is amazing right now, it was almost 80 degrees today. The boys had a lot of fun running around. Looking at the elephants

Decorating for Christmas

He was happy to see his Rudolph that he got last year..I had packed it up with the Christmas stuff so it would stay nice and cute but I don't think he is going to let me pack it back up again this year it's his new little friend
He couldn't wait to start decorating but we had to wait until that night for dad to get home from work

My mom made this awesome calendar for him. I had one like this growing up so I am excited for it to be a tradition for him as well

Thanksgiving

We went to Eagar for Thanksgiving and froze! It was 14 degrees the day we got there. Too cold for me. We did get to spend time with family and eat some good food though so it was worth it.

We did a fun little experiment. We popped corn right off the cob. Doesn't get any fresher than that!
We thought it was pretty cool. I guess it doesn't take much to impress us 'small town folk' :)

Ryan's birthday is this weekend and so we decided to go out and have some fun together today. We went to the zoo but it was way too crowded with crazy little kids on field trips so we didn't stay very long but it was nice to get out and enjoy the nice weather we are having right now.We of course had to stop again and check out the goats

After the zoo we headed over to Joe's Farm Grill for some lunch. We love that place. They have some delicious hamburgers! I was going to take a picture just to show how delicious it looks but I was so excited when I got it that I completely forgot until I had pretty much ate the whole thing. I did manage to get a picture of this cute kid munching on a french fry.

We spend a lot of our time hiding behind the couch or walls to jump out and scare Parson and chase him around. It's one of his favorite things to play and today I caught a few pictures of him playing that are pretty dang cute!

Mickey Mouse

Parson loves Mickey Mouse so this year for Halloween he got to be Mickey Mouse! Last night was our ward's Trunk or Treat and it was also my birthday (ugh I know one more year older :( ) and Ryan had to work so I convinced my parents and Blake to come down and Tyrelle, Tatum and Tripp came with us as well so we didn't have to go alone (thanks for coming everyone!). The kids had fun getting dressed up and going around collecting candy. He loved being Mickey! He thought he was so cool....although I don't think he is going to think it's so cool when he gets older and sees the pictures..haha
He did so good...I didn't know how long he would last wearing his costume but he never tried to take it off, he just held onto his bucket and walked around to all the trunks

And Tripp was the deer...isn't he the cutest little deer you've ever seen!?

He loved carrying around these pixie stix. I'm sure I will be vacuuming up colored sugar for awhile because him and Tatum ran all over the house with their candy
